About Mesquite Aircraft Sales and Service

Martin (Marty) J. Sisk IV – VP of Operations

Marty first took an interest in aviation while visiting the airport in the small town of Addison, TX, while watching his father take off on routine flights in the Collins Radio owned and operated Gulfstream G1, with that the aviation seed was planted.

In 1987 he decided to move from the oil & construction industry and set his sights and mechanical skills in the direction of becoming an A&P. He began his formal aviation training at Texas Aero where he earned his FAA Airframe & Power Plant license in 1988. Shortly afterwards, he landed his first A&P position with Chaparral Aviation, an independent Beech service center in Addison, TX. As anyone who understands the dynamics of general aviation business, company’s names change with new business strategies. In 1990 Chaparral’s name changed to Hedrick Beechcraft and later Raytheon Aircraft Services.  Marty was promoted to Lead Mechanic to support the additional business venture of the Beechcraft Airline Refurbishment Department. In 1997, he was promoted to Shop Supervisor. He left Raytheon Aircraft Services in May 2002.

Marty continued his aviation venture with Cutter Aviation. Cutter was new to the north Texas aviation market and was in search of a Director of Maintenance that could fill the role and carry the responsibility as their D.O.M.  Cutter’s Dallas facility was a New Piper Service Center and within a few months they picked up the Socata TBM Service Center. In late 2004 Raytheon closed its retail/warranty operation at Love Field and moved it to Cutter RBD. Marty and his team managed three factory service centers for 9+ years.

Those understanding General Aviation understand it’s all about personal relationships. Marty had the honor of being introduced to Mr. Donald McSwain,  who is an innovating entrepreneur, pilot, and professional drag racer,  to name a few. Mr. McSwain hired Marty to work with him to achieve his vision in opening a General Aviation Sales and Service business at the Mesquite Airport. Through the collective efforts of Mr. McSwain, Marty Sisk, and Cynthia Godfrey (Mesquite Airport Director) and the unanimous approval from the Mesquite City Council, full renovation of the second largest hangar on the field began in April 2014.  The airport in Mesquite recently built a state of the art control tower similar to the one In McKinney.

Now with the visionary focus of Mr. Donny McSwain, the General Aviation business is in full swing and compliments the airport by extending services, maintenance, and availability of hangar space to both private and corporate jets and turbo prop owners.

Marty enjoys his family, friends and has a passion for life which also follows through in his aviation career.

Steven Perry Adams, Shop Supervisor – A&P/I.A.

Born in North Carolina in 1961 and raised near the American birthplace of aviation, Kitty Hawk, Steve Adams grew up interested in airplanes and anything aviation related.

Inspired and encouraged by events of the 60’s (i.e. NASA and space exploration) he longed to be an astronaut.

He began pilot training at the age of 16 and became further encouraged by his High School auto shop teacher at Currituck county High School.

Steven attended Piedmont Aerospace Institute after graduating high school and earned his FAA Airframe and Power plant license (A&P)

He began his career as an A&P at Riverside Aviation in Elizabeth City, NC maintaining a wide range of aircraft from small general aviation aircraft to small Jets, rotorcraft and fixed wing.

Steve then pursued his military interest and joined the US Army in hopes for an M.O.S. in aviation yet he found a strong interest in electronics and spent a full year in the Army school of electronics, learning how to maintain and repair of anti-aircraft missile systems.

Upon completing his time in service with the Army, Steven began work as an A&P and later as Chief Inspector with Grand Canyon Airlines for 14+ years. He then was offered a position with Air Methods in 2002 at their Flagstaff, AZ location and then later at their Farmington, NM location for 15 years.
